چکیده

Quantum Interferences In article number 2201024, Xiangfeng Shao, Colin J. Lambert, Hao-Li Zhang, and co-workers present the significant modulation effect of double N-substitution on quantum interference (QI) in meta-phenylene ethylene oligomer molecular devices, reveal how two N-atoms synergistically modulate conductance between destructive QI constructive states. The findings this work pave a path toward utilization heterocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons electronics.

Kondo blockade due to quantum interference in single-molecule junctions

Molecular electronics offers unique scientific and technological possibilities, resulting from both the nanometre scale of the devices and their reproducible chemical complexity. Two fundamental yet different effects, with no classical analogue, have been demonstrated experimentally in single-molecule junctions: quantum interference due to competing electron transport pathways, and the Kondo ef...

Interplay between quantum interference and conformational fluctuations in single-molecule break junctions.

We theoretically explored the combined role of conformational fluctuations and quantum interference in determining the electrical conductance of single-molecule break junctions. In particular we computed the conductance of a family of methylsulfide-functionalized trans-α,ω-diphenyloligoene molecules, with terminal phenyl rings containing meta or para linkages, for which (at least in the absence...

Experimental evidence for quantum interference and vibrationally induced decoherence in single-molecule junctions.

We analyze quantum interference and decoherence effects in single-molecule junctions both experimentally and theoretically by means of the mechanically controlled break junction technique and density-functional theory. We consider the case where interference is provided by overlapping quasidegenerate states. Decoherence mechanisms arising from electronic-vibrational coupling strongly affect the...

Local ionic and electron heating in single-molecule junctions.

A basic aim in molecular electronics is to understand transport through a single molecule connected to two electrodes. Substantial progress towards this goal has been made over the past decade as a result of advances in both experimental techniques and theoretical methods. Nonetheless, a fundamental and technologically important issue, current-induced local heating of molecules, has received mu...

A quantum circuit rule for interference effects in single-molecule electrical junctions.

A quantum circuit rule for combining quantum interference effects in the conductive properties of oligo(phenyleneethynylene) (OPE)-type molecules possessing three aromatic rings was investigated both experimentally and theoretically. Molecules were of the type X-Y-X, where X represents pyridyl anchors with para (p), meta (m) or ortho (o) connectivities and Y represents a phenyl ring with p and ...
